Educator Guide - How to Manage a class
Managing a class is easy with TinkerHost for Education! Login to your account at app.tinkerhost.net, then follow the steps below:
- Open your educator dashboard by clicking the link on your TinkerHost Client Area Homepage
(Can't find it? Click here!)
- Scroll down to the "Your Classes" section
- Click the blue "Manage" button for the class you want to modify
(Want to create a new class? Enter a class name in the forum directly below the class list!)
- Scroll down to the "Settings Panel" (Most browsers will automatically take you here)
- In the settings panel, you can modify:
- Class Name (This name is viewable to students, and helps keep things organized. We recommend using a period number, and the name of the course. For example: "P2 Into To WordPress"
- Class Icon (An additional way for you to easily recognize classes you create. Not shown to students)
- Delete Class (Permanently deletes the class, removing all students and connected hosting accounts. This will not delete student work, and cannot be reversed).
Educator Guide - How to Manage Students (And view connected domains)
TinkerHost for Education allows you to view the hosting accounts (And connected domains) that your students share with you, for easy access to check up on their progress, and grade their work. Login to your account at app.tinkerhost.net, then follow the steps below:
- Open your educator dashboard by clicking the link on your TinkerHost Client Area Homepage

- Scroll down to the "Your Students" section
(This section gives you an overview of your students, and the class they are enrolled in)
- To view more details about a student (Such as their connected account(s) and domain(s)), select the blue "View Student" button to the right of their name.
(You can also view a full list of students, and their connected account(s)/domain(s) by selecting the blue student counter link in the "Your Classes" section of the Educator Dashboard)
- In the student viewer, you can view a table of your students per class. The information displayed is as follows, from left to right:
- Student Name: The first and last name, as declared by the student
- Account Username: The Username(s) of the account(s) that your student has linked to your class
- Account Domains: A list of domains that are connected to the account(s) from the previous column
- Remove Student: Permanently remove a student from your class, and disconnect all accounts from your class. This will not delete student work, and cannot be revered. A student can re-join your class with your join code.
