Congrats on your new premium account!
By upgrading to premium, you just unlocked so many new features and larger resources! This guide will explain how you can migrate your free hosting website to premium hosting.
Before you migrate
When you purchase premium hosting, you created an account with our partner, iFastNet. TinkerHost only provides free hosting service, iFastNet provides premium hosting. This means that you now have a separate control panel account just for your premium hosting account! Information on how to access your premium account will be sent to the email address you used to buy premium hosting. You can also find it on iFastNet’s website.
If you have any questions about premium hosting, you now have access to the premium support team. To open a ticket, visit support.ifastnet.com. If this is your first time there, you will have to create an account, as the premium support panel is separate from all other accounts.
Now, let’s learn how we can migrate your free hosting account to premium services.
Migration Method One: Automatic Migration
To use this method, you need the following:
- A premium support account (support.ifastnet.com)
- The username of your free hosting account
- The Invoice ID of your premium hosting account
- The domain name connected to your free hosting account
Open a new ticket on support.ifastnet.com, and fill out the domain name and invoice boxes with your information. In the body of the ticket, state that you would like to migrate your old hosting account to your premium account. Be sure to include the username of your free hosting account.
Even if your account is suspended, iFastNet can still migrate your account to premium services!
Migration Method Two: Manual Migration
To use this method, you will make a full backup (Files and database) of your current free hosting account, then import everything to your premium hosting account. Please see our backing up your website support article for instructions on how to backup your website. Once you have your backup, you will want to import the backup to iFastNet servers (You will do the same process, just backwards, and on your premium hosting account).
A few things to note
Even after you migrate to premium hosting, your free account will still exist. After the migration is complete and you verify that your website works, you can deactivate your free account, or use it for something else. Due to DNS propagation, we recommend that you keep your free account active for 72 hours to avoid drops in service.
When you buy premium hosting, your free hosting accounts are not automatically migrated. You have to perform one of the above methods in order to use premium hosting.
