How to fix “The certificate uploaded is NOT for the domain name” error
What do you do when you get this error message when attempting to upload a certificate? There are a few major reasons why this error may occur, let’s take a look at each one.
The certificate is for a different domain name
It is possible that you have the wrong certificate, generated it incorrectly, or are uploading it to the correct location in the control panel. If you generated the certificate using our automated tool, use the three-click installation process to install the certificate on your site.
If the certificate is for a domain not currently connected to a TinkerHost account, make sure the certificate is generated for the correct domain name, and that you are uploading it to the correct account.
The certificate is unsupported
TinkerHost does not support CloudFlare origin certificates, or Wildcard certificates. If you are attempting to upload one of these types of certificates to the client area, you may get the above error message. Additionally, only certificates from verified parties are supported.
To generate a valid SSL certificate for the control panel, please use our automated tool in the client area. The article below explains the process to create and install a certificate.
