What is a Subdomain?
A subdomain is a domain name that looks like “app.tinkerhost.net” or “mywebsite.thsite.top”. A subdomain includes at least two dots in its URL.
In the control panel, you can create subdomains from domain names that you own, as well as subdomains from domain names that we provide (Such as thsite.top).
What is an Addon Domain?
An Addon Domain is a domain name that you add to your account. For example, if you buy the domain name “cookingschool.com” and want to add it to an account you already own, you should use the “Addon Domains'' section in the control panel. Addon Domains are assigned their own htdocs folder, something like this: mywebsite.thsite.top/htdocs where “mywebsite.thsite.top” is replaced with the domain that is connected to the account.
What is a Parked Domain?
A parked domain is the same thing as an Addon Domain, except for one key difference. A Parked Domain will share the same files as a different domain already on your account. For example, if you bought the domain “cookingschool.com” and want it to share the same files as a domain name already on your account, you should use the Parked Domains section. Note that parked domains and WordPress do not work well together, as WordPress will automatically redirect the user to the domain name that it was set up on.
