This. When you request an SSL certificate, your domain name gets added to a certificate transparency list (See here). There are crawlers, bots, bad actors, and all sorts of things that check these list for updates, then some will visit the site to see if they can steal any of your login credentials and hack your hosting account.
coolncool74 i'm also using wordfence which is quite efficient for normal to mid attack
But WordFence is on your website, so every time it runs, your site uses resources. This is an example of a high usage plugin. Let CloudFlare do this, its both better at it, and does not hurt you in the process.
coolncool74 updraft plugin concern it was installed to import my backup and disabled
coolncool74 so updraft plugin currently no longer active
Don't disable plugins, delete them. Plugins sometimes still end up running in the background, and they certainly take up space.
It could have been. If the plugin kept re-trying every time it failed, and you kept loading pages on the site re-starting the process, that could have done it.
Regarding forced advertisements on website, this is something that 000WebHost, Weebly, Wix, etc do. And it's also one of the #1 complaint raised by users. We want the hosting experience to be the best possible. While it is possible for us to add advertisements and such to websites, its against what we stand for.
Also, regarding revenue sharing, websites that are not well-known don't make much money at all though services like Google AdSence and other mainstream advertising agencies. Maybe a few pennies per month if sites are lucky (And if part of that is shared with us, more money will be spent on transfer fees then the money being transferred). So we would have to create our own Advertising center, and brands would have to buy in, not knowing what websites they are going to be advertised on (Which will attract more scams then legitimate advertising). We currently offer a program for brands to advertise within our client area (Where they know who they are advertising to), and we have received very limited applications that abide by our terms.
